What will you do as a Pension Administration Apprentice?

  • Pension administrators look after pension scheme members and make sure they receive the right pension at the right time and advise them of their rights and benefits to enable them to make important decisions about their retirement.
  • Communicating with clients, their members and advisers via email, letter, and telephone.
  • Processing client pension payrolls, including calculations of net pay, arranging payments, liaising with tax offices and preparation of year‑end returns.
  • Preparing computer‑generated benefit calculations and related correspondence.
  • Attending team meetings to understand priorities and offering support as required.
  • Engaging in additional project work.

What qualification will I study for? You will study for the Workplace Pensions Administrator Level 3 qualification in partnership with our training provider. The programme is well‑structured with support from a skills coach, mentors and line managers to ensure you succeed in both your role and study.

When will I begin?

  • Apprenticeship level: Workplace Pensions Administrator Level 3.

What do we look for? We are looking for a friendly, customer‑focused approach with strong attention to detail. You should demonstrate a positive attitude, be organised, have good problem‑solving skills, enjoy working with numbers and possess strong communication skills to build effective relationships with external clients and team members. Previous employment, volunteering, or hobbies that develop these skills are acceptable.

Entry Requirements: Ideally A‑Level standard or equivalent with grade C or higher in two or more subjects. A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4 C or equivalent) including Maths and English is required.
