Reporting directly into the Head of Marketing Campaigns, we have an exciting, 12 month fixed-term opportunity for a Senior Content Writer to join our Marketing team, based at our Birmingham office in the B31 Longbridge area (hybrid working). We have ambitious growth objectives and the Marketing Team plays a crucial role in achieving these. The Marketing Team delivers a range of activities across campaigns, design, communication, media relations, events and insights. As the Senior Content Writer, you'll be responsible for the creation of our marketing communications content – encompassing both online and offline communications, ensuring it is consistently effective, engaging and aligned to the Barnett Waddingham brand.
Snapshot of your day
- Production/creation and publication of engaging, persona led website content and social media content
- Scripting and development of video and animation storyboarding and corporate thought leadership and research initiatives
- Creating engaging HTML content tailored to target audience
- Regular review of content led website user experience with recommendations and implementation – focused on driving goal completions
- Production of digital and offline “paid for” advertising content – including sponsorship, retargeting campaigns and print advertising
- Implementing SEO findings to ensure content is optimised for search visibility
- Review and analysis of content led activity to improve future campaign activity
- Full content and editorial support for busy online and offline events portfolio, including promotional activity and event and exhibition livery; and ownership of business area editorial process where necessary and relevant
Operational marketing communications
- Firmwide key campaign messaging / key message creation and articulation, ensuring consistency throughout all channels.
- Communication house styles – ownership and execution
- Promotion of key firmwide activities (such as awards, corporate reports and policy documents)
General
- Ensure that editorial guidelines such as tone of voice for all copy is closely followed.
- Liaising with our PR team to ensure any marketing activities of a suitable nature to justify a press release are taken.
- Pro-actively help to grow our e-mail database through maximising opt-in opportunities and other methods that generate data capture.
- Ensure delivery of marketing campaigns are timely, effective and on brand
What we’re looking for
- A degree with a concentration in Marketing, Communications or English Language would be preferable but not essential
- Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications an advantage
- Experience in a marketing communications role preferably, or a role that requires considerable marketing writing and content creation.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
- Any working experience of social media and website CMS would be beneficial.
- Professional services experience is beneficial, pensions/insurance/investment experience is a real benefit but not mandatory.
