We are seeking a highly experienced Bid Manager to join any of our 10 UK office locations (Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Glasgow, Cheltenham, Bristol, Amersham, Guildford) providing you are willing to travel to Birmingham on a quarterly basis. This is a permanent position with hybrid working.

The Bid Manager is responsible for the successful completion of tenders in accordance with agreed company processes and best practice methodologies, and plays a leading role in ensuring the effective co-ordination and timely completion of tenders. The Bid Team works in partnership with all areas of the business to deliver the growth objectives of Barnett Waddingham.

A snapshot of your day:

  • Fully owning and taking responsibility for tender projects
  • Ensuring the production of Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQs), Invitation to Tenders (ITTs) and Presentations in accordance with agreed deadlines
  • Carrying out research and capturing information to facilitate the completion of tenders
  • Working with the Bid Designer to produce a high quality bid response document
  • Ensuring win themes are developed that meet the client’s objectives and Barnett Waddingham proposition
  • Identifying and re-working existing pre-written content where relevant
  • Delivering completed written proposal responses to the Head of Bid Management against agreed Request for Proposal (RFP) deadlines
  • Re-writing/editing proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders
  • Project Work; Writing Case Studies
  • Proactively gaining testimonials and identifying areas of tender improvement
  • Maintaining Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) knowledge and best practice

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience (ideally 2+ years) in a similar Bid Management role
  • Proven skills in producing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment
  • Experience in leading storyboarding sessions and participating in key review meetings
  • Experience of coordinating and updating a work management system and Bid Library
  • A relevant qualification, supported by an APMP accreditation is preferable but not essential
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organised, and able to work well with colleagues at all levels
  • Excellent time management/prioritisation skills as well as Tender Management
  • Professional services experience is beneficial
  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous proof reading skills
