We are seeking to recruit a forward thinking and highly motivated individual to join Devon Ward as an Activity Support Worker at Chase Farm Hospital. The service is an integral part of the local adult mental health care pathway and working in partnership with key stakeholders. You will be part of a specialist multidisciplinary team and therapy department within the hospital who will provide intensive input to service users developing individualised care programmes to prepare service users for successful step down to the acute wards. The principles of coproduction and Values Based Practice are key to the delivery of the service.

Main duties of the job:

The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership. In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Person specification:

  • Qualifications: GCSE English and Maths A-C / 4 and above; Evidence of other relevant Postgraduate education/ relevant CPD
  • Experience: Experience of facilitating a range of groups, for example practical/functional groups, leisure groups and discussion groups; Experience of working with people who have a mental health condition; Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team; Participation in quality improvement projects
  • Skills: Able to communicate effectively within a multi-professional team; Confidence to work autonomously and use own initiative; Awareness of risk assessment/ management in an acute and/or community setting; Sensitive to cultural, dynamic and diverse needs; Leadership Skills and Team building
  • Others: Ability to partake in PMVA training and interventions as required
