About The Role

The Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Team has an opportunity for a permanent Independent Reviewing Officer to chair child in-care reviews and lead in strengthening and maintaining high-quality multi-agency safeguarding practice and plans, and encouraging the participation of young people in their care planning.

About You

  • A qualified Social Worker, with at least five years’ post-qualifying experience (including management) in a statutory social work setting with children and families.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A well-developed knowledge base of the components for outstanding social work practice.
  • A proven ability in providing specialist advice and chairing complex multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
  • A proven ability in developing, implementing and reviewing care plans which ensure best possible outcomes for children.
