About The Directorate
The Assurance and Public Protection directorateensures democratic accountability of council services. The directorate work together to monitor and ensure compliance and provide assurance of Barnet being an engaged and effective council that protects the public purse. They provide enforcement services that engage and protect residents and businesses to support a safer and healthier borough.
About The Role
The post holder will join a central Improvement Team (within the Assurance and Public Protection directorate) that lead continuous improvement and provide exceptional compliance and operational support.
Reporting to the Improvement Lead, the post holder will coordinate and support improvement and compliance activities, and provide business support for teams delivering a range of services within the directorate.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity – There is a mandatory requirement of 3 days per week in the office

We are looking for an organised and motivated individual who can work as part of a team to provide a proactive improvement and business support service.
You will be an excellent communicator with advanced organisational and administrative skills. You will particularly enjoy this role if you have thefollowing qualities:
- Experience of supporting improvement and compliance activities within similar organisations
- Experience of delivering high quality customer and business support in a complex environment
- Experience/interest in health and safety, business continuity, corporate complaints, Freedom of Information and Subject Access requests, or Members Enquiries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of managing a mixed and varied workload
- Confident with technology and competent user of Office365 applications
- Experienced in maintaining spreadsheets and databases, and producing reports
- High level of personal drive and energy with a can-do attitude
