About The Role
Our Head of Mental Health leads the management of all services for people who need care and support from the Council due to their mental health. The role is responsible for ensuring a focus on achieving the best outcomes for people drawing on care and support across social work, assessment, support planning, case management and safeguarding as well as the Approved Mental Health Professional service and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards teams. Working with partners to continuously develop these services within set budgetary parameters.
About You
You will be an authentic leader with social work values at the centre of all you do and a solid knowledge and experience of the mental health system. You must be able to quickly understand and work within the wider system priorities and complexities, using your skills to build relationships, navigate barriers and maximise opportunities to continuously improve outcomes for residents drawing on care and support. You will operate with absolute clarity about adult social care’s role and responsibilities, including the boundaries around those and where the responsibility of other partners sits. You will be dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every colleague feels supported and heard, consistently reflecting these values in your actions.
