We are seeking to appoint an experienced, passionate and forward-thinking Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Inclusion to strengthen our provision for children with Special Educational Needs, vulnerable groups and English as an Additional Language (EAL). This is a non-class-based role, enabling a clear focus on leadership, intervention and impact. The role includes leading targeted support and intervention, developing staff practice and providing leadership cover when required. As a key member of the Senior Management Team and Designated Safeguarding Team, the successful candidate will have strategic responsibility for inclusion across the school. They will work closely with staff, children, families and external professionals to ensure inclusive practice is consistently high-quality and embedded across all areas of school life.

The successful applicant will hold the National Award for SEN Coordination, or be willing to work towards it.

  • Has a strong working knowledge of SEN legislation and inclusive practice
  • Works effectively with external agencies and professionals
  • Can inspire, develop and strategically lead inclusive practice across the school
