As our Marketing Manager, you will lead the delivery of the College's marketing and student recruitment strategy across all campuses and provision types, from 16-18 and adult learning to apprenticeships, Higher Education and SEND. You will lead a team of four direct reports, own integrated campaigns across digital, print, events and schools engagement, and use data and insight to drive continuous improvement in awareness, enquiries, applications and enrolments.
This is a senior role with genuine influence. You will be a member of the College Management Group, deputise for the Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment, and work closely with curriculum leaders and senior colleagues to ensure marketing activity is directly aligned to the College's strategic priorities and its 2030 Vision. What You'll Be Doing
- Strategy delivery: Lead delivery of the College's marketing and student recruitment strategy, ensuring campaigns directly drive awareness, enquiries, applications and enrolments across all provision types.
- Team leadership: Line manage and develop four direct reports (Schools Liaison Officers x2, Digital Marketing Officer, Student Recruitment Coordinator), building capability, accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Integrated campaigns: Plan, deliver and optimise campaigns across digital, print, events, schools engagement and partnerships, ensuring consistent messaging and measurable impact at every stage of the learner journey.
- Digital performance: Own and improve digital marketing across paid media, SEO, website content and user journey, CRM and email automation, maximising conversion from enquiry to enrolment.
- Data and insight: Use analytics and market intelligence to evaluate campaign performance, understand learner behaviour and focus resource on activity that delivers the greatest recruitment and reputational impact.
- Brand and reputation: Strengthen and protect the College brand, ensuring consistent application of guidelines across all channels and positioning Barnet and Southgate College as a leading provider in North London.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with curriculum, admissions, student services and senior leaders to ensure marketing reflects priorities, supports conversion and enhances the applicant experience.
- Budget and KPIs: Maintain ownership of marketing budgets and performance metrics, reporting transparently and driving continuous improvement.
- Senior contribution: Deputise for the Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment as required, contribute to the College Management Group and participate in the Duty Manager roster across all campuses.
What You'll Bring
- A degree in Marketing or a related subject, or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Significant experience leading marketing activity at a senior operational level, with measurable outcomes aligned to organisational strategy.
- Proven experience of leading and developing specialist teams, with accountability for performance, delivery and capability.
- Experience of planning, delivering and optimising integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM and conversion-focused learner or customer journeys.
- Experience of using data, insight and analytics to inform decision-making and demonstrate return on investment.
- Experience of working effectively with senior stakeholders and influencing priorities in a complex organisation.
- High-level communication skills including accurate copywriting and the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Sound understanding of data protection, safeguarding and regulatory requirements relevant to education marketing.
- Outcome-focused, proactive and resilient, with strong accountability for delivery and results.
