As our new Sports Lecturer, you will teach and inspire learners across a wide range of ages and abilities, planning and delivering high-quality sessions, schemes of learning and assessments aligned to departmental and awarding body expectations. You will work within a collaborative, student-centred course team culture where lecturers support each other operationally, share responsibility for learner progress and actively contribute to curriculum development and quality.

This is a dynamic role that goes beyond the classroom. You will embed new learning technologies, develop resources, build links with employers, schools and the local community, and contribute to recruitment and open events. • Inspiring teaching: Plan and deliver high-quality, motivating and inclusive sessions to learners across a range of ages, abilities and programmes, including BTEC and YMCA qualifications, adapting your approach to suit individual students.
  • Curriculum contribution: Contribute enthusiastically to curriculum development as part of the course team, developing schemes of learning, lesson plans, assignments, assessments and resource materials in line with departmental and awarding body requirements.
  • Learner success: Track and monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and QA data, and work with Student Services and learning support to ensure every student has access to the help they need to achieve.

  • Quality and inspection: Contribute to internal quality assurance processes, Teaching Observation and appraisal, and preparation for external quality assurance and inspection — keeping the provision quality-ready at all times.
  • Wider engagement: Develop meaningful links with employers, schools and the local community, and support recruitment, open events and student enrichment activities.
  • Leadership opportunity: Where ready, take on subject or course leadership responsibilities, contributing to the department's continued development and improvement.
