Description
We are looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic A-level Sociology teacher to join our successful department, ideally starting in September 2026. Sociology is a popular choice at A-level and the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to an experienced and vibrant team. The role also offers the opportunity to act as Subject Leader for Sociology.
All applicants must have a relevant degree and full teaching qualification. Recent experience of teaching business is essential. NQTs are welcome to apply.
Interviews will be held on 8th July 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach A-level Sociology following the AQA specification.
- Plan and carry out associated administrative work.
- Maintain accurate record keeping, track students effectively and submit required statistical data promptly.
- Contribute to subject teams by developing new curriculum materials, liaising with part‑time colleagues, and attending team meetings.
- Liaise with other staff and the management team as appropriate.
- Act as a personal tutor to a range of students, if required, and attend course tutor meetings.
- Engage in staff development, including CPD.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and scope of the post as may be required from time to time.
- Use new learning technologies in your duties as appropriate; the College will provide training to achieve relevant basic competencies where required.
