Key Responsibilities
- Inspiring teaching: Deliver high-quality Computing and Digital sessions to a high standard, covering Level 3 ICT, T Levels and Apprenticeships, with teaching and learning approaches tailored to the needs of your learners.
- Learner success: Monitor and track learner progress, provide timely feedback and support students to achieve their qualifications and progress to employment or further study.
Pastoral support: Act as Personal Tutor and/or Course Manager, monitoring attendance, liaising with parents, guardians and support agencies as needed. - Planning and preparation: Prepare effective schemes of work, lesson plans and assessments that are flexible, inclusive and embed English, Maths and functional skills.
- Assessment and quality: Contribute to internal verification, quality assurance processes and compliance with awarding body requirements.
- Work placements: Support the development of appropriate and safe work placement opportunities for learners.
- College community: Participate in recruitment, enrolment, parents evenings, marketing events and other college-wide activities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- A degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Computing or a related discipline
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one (e.g. PGCE/CertEd or equivalent)
- Successful teaching experience in Computing or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge within IT and Computing
- Proven classroom management skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing workload effectively under pressure
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding
- A professional or higher-level qualification in areas such as Cybersecurity
- Relevant industry or commercial experience in IT or Computing
- Experience embedding digital learning technologies into teaching
- Knowledge of awarding body and quality assurance requirements
- Experience of curriculum development and continuous improvement activity
- Enthusiasm for innovation and a willingness to contribute to enrichment, marketing and recruitment activities
