We are recruiting two highly skilled Exam Access Arrangements Assessors to join our inclusion team within Student Services. If you are a qualified specialist with a deep understanding of JCQ regulations and a commitment to removing barriers so that every learner can demonstrate their true ability, we would love to hear from you.

In these roles you will lead on the assessment, determination and quality assurance of Exam Access Arrangements (EAAs) across the College, ensuring full compliance with JCQ regulations and equitable access to assessment for learners with SEND, medical needs or other barriers to learning. You will manage a caseload of students, produce compliant assessment reports, advise on complex and borderline cases, and work closely with curriculum teams, the inclusion team, the Exams Office and wider Student Services to ensure arrangements are implemented effectively and on time. One post is based at our Southgate Campus and one at our Barnet Campus. Please indicate your campus preference in your application. Both posts require flexibility to work across College sites as needed.

You will play a key role in supporting inclusive practice across the College, working alongside curriculum teams, the inclusion team and the Exams Office to identify barriers to learning and ensure the right support is in place for every student who needs it.

What You'll Be Doing

  • EAA assessments: Conduct specialist assessments for Exam Access Arrangements in line with JCQ regulations, evaluating evidence including diagnostic reports, EHCPs and teaching input, and applying professional judgement to determine and recommend appropriate arrangements.
  • Compliance and quality: Produce high-quality, compliant assessment reports, ensure all arrangements meet JCQ standards and are audit-ready, and maintain accurate, secure records.
  • Caseload management: Manage a caseload of students requiring access arrangements, ensuring timely assessment and implementation and tracking progress through the process.
  • Expert advice: Provide guidance on complex or borderline cases, advise curriculum teams on eligibility, evidence and processes, and liaise with external professionals to gather supporting evidence.
  • Training and development: Deliver training and guidance to staff on access arrangements and inclusive assessment practice, develop guidance materials and resources, and keep the College up to date with JCQ regulatory changes.
  • Collaboration: Build strong working relationships across Inclusion, Exams, MIS, curriculum and wider Student Services, and communicate outcomes clearly to students, parents, carers and staff.
  • Quality assurance: Contribute to QA processes and support inspections including JCQ, Ofsted and Matrix.

What You'll Bring

  • A recognised Level 7 Access Arrangements Assessor qualification, or equivalent accredited qualification (e.g. AMBDA or APC Level accredited course, or a postgraduate course at or equivalent to Level 7 providing a qualification in access arrangements assessment).
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, Education, SEND or a related field.
  • At least 100 hours of practice relating to individual specialist assessment of SEND students.
  • Strong, demonstrable experience carrying out JCQ-compliant EAA assessments.
  • Proven experience of EAA audit and meeting JCQ requirements.
  • Experience managing a caseload of students and supporting them through the EAA process.
  • Experience working within an FE, school or similar educational setting.
  • Excellent understanding of JCQ Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confidence in delivering training and supporting staff development.
  • Excellent organisational skills, IT skills and ability to manage data accurately and to deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality, with an empathetic approach to working with young people.
  • English and Maths at Grade 5-9 or equivalent.
