Barnes Aerospace has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for an experienced P&L Leader to lead and grow our Newton Abbot OEM and Motherwell OEM operations. We’re seeking a strong multi-site Managing Director to play an integral role in directing and executing the business goals and objectives for achieving profitable, sustainable growth for our aerospace portfolio and adjacent growth areas.
Core Responsibilities:
- The Managing Director - UK will have full P&L responsibility for the Newton Abbot OEM site and the Motherwell OEM site providing advanced technological solutions to both Aerospace & Defense customers.
- Provide leadership and direction to the organization with $80M sales and ~400 employees to achieve performance and financial objectives as defined and aligned on through the Company’s annual profit planning process.
- Ensure the effective development and execution of the profitable growth strategy culminating in increasing organic revenue growth through developing new customers and expanding product offerings.
- Leverage their commercial background to develop and cultivate strong customer relationships to achieve profitable top-line revenue and market share growth.
- Champion the application, development and maturity of core business processes such as SIOP, Lean/Six Sigma, Automation and Smart Factory initiatives to maximize operational efficiencies and equipment effectiveness.
- Organize the business to execute and deliver results using Management Operating Systems and key KPI’s that enable OEM value stream processes across the site operations.
- Empower teams with a collaborative, inclusive leadership/management style to drive, achieve and sustain results.
- Attract, develop, and retain qualified, talented people, creating and sustaining a high-performance culture.
- Lead and manage the areas of accountability to achieve short-term and long-term business success and required financial performance.
- Plan and direct overall activities that meet or exceed established performance metrics including safety and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of P&L experience in a manufacturing and repair/overhaul environment in aerospace.
- Prior commercial and sales management experience necessary.
- At least 10 years of experience of effectively leading and managing people.
- A proven track record of implementing and successfully executing strategies to build and sustain a high-performance work environment.
- Solid track record of business development experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy a winning business strategy that integrates sales, operations, finance, logistics and human resource disciplines.
- Active experience in mergers/acquisitions from strategy, identification, due diligence through successful integration.
- Experience in leading a unionized facility / partnering with trade unions to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated leadership effectiveness and must be an effective change leader.
- Impeccable integrity; superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel as needed, 50+%.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, or related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification to support experience preferred.
