We are partnering with a highly successful and growing construction business with an annual turnover of £80m–£100m, seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Director to join its senior leadership team. This is a key strategic appointment, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, supporting growth, and shaping the future direction of a well-established organisation within the construction industry.

The Role

  • Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Director will be responsible for leading the finance function and providing strategic financial insight across the business.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing the finance team to deliver best-in-class financial reporting and controls
  • Providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth and operational efficiency
  • Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Managing cash flow, working capital, and financial risk
  • Ensuring robust financial governance, compliance, and internal controls
  • Partnering with operational teams to drive profitability and performance
  • Supporting commercial decision-making, including bids, contracts, and investments

The Candidate

  • The successful candidate will be a highly capable finance leader with strong sector experience and a hands-on approach.
  • Key requirements:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA essential)
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within the construction or manufacturing related sector
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at board level
  • Experience managing finance in a £80m–£100m turnover business (or similar scale)
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with strong attention to detail
