Role Overview: Learning Support Assistant – fixed term contract until 21 July 2027. 5 days per week (Monday–Friday) 15 hours (approximately 39 weeks per year). Hours: 9:00–12:00. Salary: Scale 3 Point 6–7, £25,989–£26,403 FTE (£9,032–£9,176 actual).
Responsibilities:
- Support a pupil on a one‑to‑one basis and work with small groups in the classroom setting.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to support learning in line with the National Curriculum.
- Demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm, and a "can‑do" attitude in all work.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children in a school setting.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Able to support the child’s medical needs and willing to deal with intimate care needs.
- Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs.
- Demonstrates patience, calmness and flexibility at all times.
- Commitment to high achievement for pupils and self.
- Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.
- Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A–C or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of ICT.
- Flexibility and a good sense of humour.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Willingness to undertake training and support individual needs.
