Overview

  • Role: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant
  • Contract: Fixed Term, until July 2027, 39 weeks per year (38 weeks plus 5 inset days)
  • Hours: 15 hours and 45 minutes
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 9am - 12:15pm
  • Salary: Scale 3 Point 5-6 £25583 - £25989 FTE (actual salary £9336.12 - £9484.29 per annum)

The post is for 5 days a week (15.75 hours) Monday to Friday 9am-12:15pm. It is a fixed term contract to end July 2027. We are a good school seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant with a "can-do" attitude who is committed to raising standards for those they work with. You will need to have an ability to work flexibly and with enthusiasm. You will work in partnership with class teachers and the SENCO, to support learning in line with the National Curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Support a pupil on a 1:1 basis and also work with small groups of pupils in the classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to support learning in line with the National Curriculum.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting children in a school setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Able to support the child's medical needs and willing to deal with intimate care needs
  • Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs
  • Patience, calmness and flexibility at all times
  • A commitment to high achievement from pupils and themselves
  • Excellent organisation and inter-personal skills
  • Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A-C or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of ICT
  • Flexibility and a good sense of humour
  • The ability to use their own initiative
  • Willing to undertake training and support individual needs
