VOICE & INFLUENCE Project Worker – YOUNG HEALTH PROGRAMME

This is an exciting opportunity to join Barnardo's partnership with AstraZeneca to deliver the Young Health Programme within the UK.

This high-profile partnership combines direct support, youth participation, and social change, ensuring young people's voices influence the services, resources, and decisions that affect their lives.

Do you want to support young people to create positive change and improve health outcomes for their peers?

Are you passionate about young people driving change for young people?

Too many young people are growing up in poverty and food insecurity; missing out on a healthy childhood. The lack of access to a healthy diet is increasing their risk of non- communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, and reducing their chance of thriving as adults.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Voice & Influence Lead and 13 Young Co-Designers, helping to create engaging participation opportunities, support workshops and activities, and contribute to the development of solutions that improve outcomes for young people experiencing health inequalities.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience of working directly with children and/or young people in a youth work, education, health, social care or community setting.
  • Experience of supporting group activities and creating safe, inclusive environments where young people feel comfortable sharing their views and experiences.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • An interest in youth participation, co-design and supporting young people to influence change.
