Overview

The North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) commissions Barnardo's to provide Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) across North Cumbria. Due to an exciting expansion to our service, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Team Manager who can support staff to deliver an outstanding service to children, young people and their families in the West locality team in North Cumbria.

Locality and Schools

The service operates as 2 locality teams across North Cumbria – West covering Egremont, Whitehaven, Workington, Cockermouth, Maryport, Keswick, Solway Coast and East covering Carlisle, Penrith, Eden. The service currently works with 84 educational settings including primary schools, secondary schools, a college, special education schools and pupil referral units (PRUs). However, as of September 2026, all schools in North Cumbria will have an MHST presence within them.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Team Manager to offer leadership and management to a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated mental health practitioners. The successful person will be responsible for managing 2 of the teams in the West Locality.
