About the role
We're looking for a creative and strategicSenior Social Media Officer to lead social media activity for Barnardo's partnership with Co-op.
Joining our Social Media & Video team within External Communications & Engagement, you'll create engaging, social-first content that showcases the impact of the partnership, amplifies young people's voices and connects with audiences across the UK.
From trend-led TikToks and Instagram Reels to campaign content and creator collaborations, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering content across a variety of channels such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.
A key part of this role is working directly with young people to co-create and co-produce content. You'll help ensure their ideas, experiences and perspectives are at the heart of our storytelling for the partnership, creating authentic content that resonates with audiences and empowers young people to share their voices.
Working closely with Co-op colleagues, content creators, influencers and teams across Barnardo's, you'll identify new opportunities to grow audiences, increase engagement and deliver meaningful impact.
We're looking for someone who can:
- Create engaging, platform-first content tailored to different social media audiences.
- Lead the planning and delivery of social media activity supporting the Barnardo's and Co-op partnership.
- Work directly with young people to co-create and co-produce authentic content.
- Develop standout video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Spot emerging trends and turn them into opportunities for growth and engagement.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, partners, creators and influencers.
- Use analytics and audience insights to optimise performance and demonstrate impact.
- Balance creativity and strategy to deliver social media activity that gets results.
To succeed in this role
You'll have experience managing successful social media channels, creating engaging video content and understanding what drives performance across today's social platforms. You'll be a confident collaborator, an excellent storyteller and passionate about involving young people in the creation of content.
Most importantly, you'll be excited about using social media to amplify young people's voices, showcase the impact of the Barnardo's and Co-op partnership, and help create positive change for children and young people across the UK.
