The Fundraising and Marketing function focuses on raising money c.£46m and growing our community of passionate supporters and collaborating with partners.

Job Purpose

To maximise income for Barnardo's by developing and managing existing relationships and leading on identifying new Major Donors to secure gifts of £5,000 and above.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise funds towards Barnardo's projects in line with agreed income targets.
  • Make the ask to secure high value donations at a 4, 5 and 6 figure value.
  • Seek to recruit new philanthropic support into the supporter pipeline and manage the portfolio of existing donors.
  • Build relationships and meet regularly with targeted Major Donors to maximise both income and charity profile.
  • Maintain and professionally manage these relationships to a high standard.
  • Be an external and internal ambassador for major donor fundraising and support all members of the Philanthropy Team to achieve the overall team income targets.
  • Develop a pipeline of activity for your donors and prospects, including maximising opportunities at Philanthropy and Relationship Fundraising events.
  • Lead meetings with Major Donors and attend with the relevant senior team member where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with Children's Services to raise funds for the current fundraising priorities.
