Overview
Barnardo's Young People and Families Team is recruiting a Senior Youth Worker to develop, manage and support youth work services from 'The Base' in North Tyneside. The 128 Service offers targeted, holistic group and 1:1 support for young people aged 10‑18, including LGBTQ+ youth, providing a safe space, weekly peer meetings and activities that build skills and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and support youth work services from 'The Base'.
- Design and deliver safe, inclusive and effective youth work offers for young people.
- Provide 1:1 and group support to young people aged 10‑18 and LGBTQ+.
- Supervise and lead a youth work team, including line management duties.
- Ensure emotional and practical support is provided in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other Barnardo's services and community partners to enhance service delivery.
- Work flexibly, including evenings, to meet the needs of the service.
Qualifications
- Experience designing and delivering a youth work offer for young people.
- Experience and knowledge of managing youth work teams.
- Supervision and line management experience.
- Confidence and creativity in engaging young people aged 10‑18.
