If you would like to support children and young people with their mental health in education then this role is for you!

We want to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Team Manager who can enable staff to deliver an outstanding service to children, young people and their parent-carers.

Team Managers provide line management for the Senior Practitioners and Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP's), leading and coordinating the whole school approach work in schools and colleges with children, young people and parent-carers, in partnership with education settings.

The successful candidate will be employed on a full-time basis to deliver mental health support across a range of education settings in North Lancashire. The position will be line managed and supervised within the service. You will work in schools across the North Lancashire area and your service base will be at 38 Northgate, Morecambe, Lancashire LA3 3PA

We have created a friendly, caring and supportive environment, with a strong ethos around providing quality and effective care for children and young people. Does this appeal to you?

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are a national programme delivered by NHS England, NHS workforce, training and education, and NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (NHS ICB). The programme has three main commitments:

  • Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs
  • Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school/college approach
  • Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education

Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing is a key component of Barnardo's Corporate Strategy and Mental Health Support Teams are part of this strategy.
