About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to combine creativity, technology and learning expertise in a role with real organisational impact. You'll design and develop engaging digital learning experiences, manage and enhance our learning platform, and work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to create solutions that improve capability and performance. From interactive e-learning and multimedia content to exploring AI and emerging technologies, you'll play a key role in how learning is experienced at Barnardo's. We're a friendly, supportive team who test, learn and iterate; we're always looking for ways to do things better for the people we support.

This role can be based in a Barnardo's hub/office or home address. You will be required to attend a monthly in-person team meeting in London along with occasional travel as required for the role.

Why This Role Matters

You'll have the opportunity to influence learning at scale, driving innovation and creating experiences that genuinely make a difference.

What We're Looking For

  • You will be an experienced digital learning professional who enjoys turning ideas into engaging, practical learning solutions.
  • You're curious about how learning can impact, and keen to test, learn and improve solutions as you go.
  • Experience managing a learning platform (ideally Moodle) within an L&D context, alongside using Microsoft 365 tools such as SharePoint to support delivery in a complex organisation.
  • Experience creating interactive digital learning using recognised authoring tools (for example Articulate Rise, H5P or similar), across a range of formats.
  • A strong understanding of inclusive and accessible learning design, with evidence of applying principles such as WCAG in practice.
  • Experience working across the full learning lifecycle, from scoping and design through to delivery, review and evaluation.
  • A focus on continuous improvement, with experience using feedback, completion data or learner analytics to enhance learning content.
  • A commitment to developing your own digital learning practice, through CPD, self‑directed learning and exploring new methods.

What You'll Gain

  • The opportunity to shape learning across one of the UK's largest children's charities.
  • A flexible, predominantly remote role within a supportive and collaborative team.
  • Investment in your professional development, including external events and learning opportunities.
  • The freedom to innovate, experiment and help define the future of digital learning at Barnardo's.
  • Most importantly, the chance to see your work contribute to changing childhoods and changing lives.
