BARNARDO'S LIVERPOOL & KNOWSLEY SENDIASS: INFORMATION & ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT OFFICER (part time)
Barnardo's Liverpool & Knowsley SENDIASS are currently looking to appoint an Information & Administration Support Officer (PW1) who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with a specialeducationalneed /disability(SEND). Someone who can enable children, young people and their families toparticipatefully indecisionsabout the outcomes that they wish to achieve.
Location
- 109 Eaton Road, West Derby, Liverpool, L12 1LU (office-based Helpline service support)
- The role may, at times, require support in the community (Liverpool & Knowsley)
Working pattern:
- 21 hours per week over 3 days (days to be discussed with successful candidate)
- Hours work around service need
The primary objectives of the PW1 post are to:
Work positively with the child/young person and parent/carer offering support, information and impartial advice by:
- Promoting web-based support and resources
- Telephone/email support and guidance
In addition to above:
- Be able to work bothindividuallyand in a team (supporting SENDIASS case workers where needed)
- Be able to give good qualitystatutoryinformation, advice &support to families and professionals via telephone and email to help with self advocacy. Experience in this area would be advantageous.
- You will have an up-to-date knowledge andunderstandingof SEND legal framework and itsstatutoryprocedures, including matters related to education, health and socialcare.
- You will befamiliarwith relevantlegislationincluding The Children and Families Act (2014), The SEND Code of Practice 2015, the Equality Act 2010 andfamiliarwith the IAS national standards.
- You will be required to have aqualificationin SpecialEducationalNeeds, for example IPSEA training up to, and including, level 3 or are willing to work towards
