We're looking for a motivated individuals to join our Bridgend team as Assistant Project Workers on an As and When basis, dependent on need within our Atebion Disability Family Support Service and/or our Bridgend Support Service for Parents. These roles are key in supporting parents, carers and their families across Bridgend.

About the Services:

Atebion is a well‑established Disability Family Support Service that has been supporting families in Bridgend since 2014. We work with families of children and young people who are disabled, neurodivergent, or have additional needs, both during the assessment process and after diagnosis.

The Bridgend Support Service for Parents will be launching on the 1st April 2026, also working with parents and families of children of all ages to support with specific strategies and approaches in relation to parenting confidence, skills and resilience.

Our support across both services will be consistently flexible, strengths‑based and tailored to each family. Through structured interventions, one‑to‑one coaching and group work, we help parents and carers build confidence, resilience, and practical strategies that make day‑to‑day life more manageable.

What will the role involve?

As an As and When Assistant Project Worker, you will support the delivery of interventions across both services, assisting the team in delivering the service successfully. Your duties may include:

  • Working with parents, carers and families one‑to‑one and in groups, using a variety of interventions to identify needs and support positive outcomes
  • Co‑facilitating group interventions, including workshops, activity sessions and drop in events for parents and carers
  • Supporting co‑production activities to ensure the voice of families shapes service development
  • Applying safeguarding and child protection procedures consistently and confidently

As an As and When colleague, your time with our service will be based on periods of high demand enabling us to respond to the needs of families so that they receive the right support at the right time. Our working days are Monday to Friday and due to the flexible nature of our support to meet the needs of different families, we are seeking applicants who can also work flexibly including after school and evening hours on a regular basis, either office or group venue based.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience of working directly with parents and carers
  • Experience of co‑facilitating group‑based interventions with parents and carers
  • An understanding and empathy for the issues facing vulnerable children, young people and their families, with specific reference to disability, additional need and neurodiversity.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
