We require a dedicated person to work as leader for Barnardo's Play for All Saturday Club in West Belfast. The club runs from 11am - 1pm on the first and third Saturday of each month during term-time from September to June.

Barnardo's Play for All Saturday Clubs are for children with learning difficulties, sensory impairments and medical conditions between the ages of five and twelve. The children can bring along siblings, cousins or friends. The aim of the clubs is to provide play and fun activities for the children, to assist in the development of their self-esteem and to provide lasting health and wellbeing benefits.

The post is for ten hours a month during September to June, and you will be paid on an annualised basis over twelve months. The hours incorporate time for club preparation, keeping records and supervision/support meetings. The Saturday Club Leader is responsible to and supported by the Play for All Co-ordinator and will attend group supervision meetings with other club leaders, a number of times per year.

Essential criteria:
  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Early Years or Play Work or Youth Work or other relevant subject
  • Experience of working with children in a group setting and setting up inclusive, high quality experiences suitable for different ages and stages of development
  • Demonstrable computer literacy and proficiency in using standard IT systems

Working hours: Two Saturdays a month during term time (2 x 5 hours per month).
