Project Worker 2 - Healthy, Respectful Relationships Group Work Programme

Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated Project Worker 2 to join our Healthy, Respectful Relationships Programme , working with children, young people, and families from sanctuary-seeking backgrounds across the region
About the Role
This is a rewarding and impactful opportunity to empower young people to build the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to form healthy, respectful relationships.
You will:
- Deliver engaging group sessions and one-to-one support , tailored to the needs of children and young people
- Use creative, age-appropriate approaches to explore important topics such as equality, respect, and wellbeing
- Help young people challenge harmful attitudes and develop positive behaviours and strong values
- Work closely with families and communities to ensure holistic, culturally sensitive support
Specific Responsibilities
- Engage with key personnel to make them aware of the service and the referral process.
- Liaise with parents to arrange an initial home visit or organise group meetings with the parents/carers of children and young people referred to the programme .
- Carry out direct group work with participants using a co-design process, including organising and facilitating activities and residential experiences.
- Invite participants to complete a baseline assessment pre delivery · Monitor progress on a weekly basis.
- Invite participants to complete baseline assessment again and evaluation form post intervention.
- Contribute to a report on how the service is performing against all key measures and circulate to TEO contract manager in the agreed format and at the agreed intervals.
- Contribute to a final evaluation/impact report that summarises the key findings and outcomes achieved.
- Organise a celebration event(s) .

Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrable experience of design and delivery of group work programmes with children and young people.
- Demonstrable experience of ability to engage with young people who may face barriers to access services and programmes.
- Demonstrable experience of safeguarding.
- Must hold a current driving licence with access to a vehicle or demonstrate the ability to source another means of transport to fulfil the role. * As driving is an intrinsic part of this role, applicants with a disability that prevents them from driving should be able to demonstrate an alternative means of meeting the mobility requirements of the post.
Desirable Criteria
- Youth Work, Community Work or Social Work qualification.
- Previous experience of working with young people/families from a Sanctuary Seeking background.
- Previous experience of co-design approaches with children and young people .
- Experience of delivering relationship education programmes.
Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 31 March 2027 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.
This contract is due to expire on 31 March 2027.
