We are looking for a strategic and creative Senior Digital Marketing Manager (Acquisition) to lead our paid digital marketing activity (excluding Retail), driving brand consideration and inspiring people to join us. This is a key role within our Fundraising & Marketing function, supporting Barnardo\’s ambition to grow income and deepen supporter engagement.

You\’ll lead a team of audience-first digital marketing specialists, managing the charity\’s digital paid media budget and collaborating across teams to deliver integrated, impactful campaigns. You\’ll be the lead expert in digital acquisition, working closely with our media agency and internal teams to optimise performance and scale up our digital marketing and digital fundraising efforts.

What You\’ll Do

  • Lead the development and delivery of paid digital marketing campaigns that inspire action and support Barnardo\’s strategy and purpose.
  • Manage and optimise a significant paid media budget, ensuring efficiency and strong return on investment across acquisition channels, leading the digital budget within this.
  • Collaborate across Fundraising & Marketing, Strategy & External Affairs, Retail and Children\’s Services to deliver integrated campaigns and seamless supporter journeys, planning for paid digital media within these activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting and data-led decision making, working with Supporter Data & Insight and our media agency.
  • Support the development of the Fundraising & Marketing strategic growth plan, identifying and evidencing how paid digital media can help achieve shared goals.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team of digital marketers.

What You\’ll Bring

  • Proven success in digital marketing and digital fundraising, with a strong track record of acquisition and income growth.
  • Experience managing large paid media budgets and using data to inform strategic plans and optimise performance.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams and agencies.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A passion for delivering amazing supporter experiences and driving long-term value.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.
