Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to March 2026 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.

Barnardo\’s National Counter Trafficking Centre runs services across England and Wales. This includes the Independent Child Trafficking Guardianship Service, a statutory provision set out in Section 48 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We are recruiting to the role of Supervisor to work within our service. The the role will be Home Based and has the potential for extensive travel across our delivery sites; due to the nature of the work you must be able to identify a confidential space for you to carry out your day to day work. If you are interested in applying for the role, you must have a current driving licence and use of a car or be able to manage extensive travel via public transport.

Our Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Line management for up to 8 Independent Child Trafficking Guardians or Support Workers with a focus on continuous development; managing personal supervision and reviews alongside the effective management of sickness and performance.
  • Oversight and monitoring of national and regional allocations and practitioner caseloads
  • Oversight and monitoring of the assessment and triage of referrals
  • Supporting staff to ensure that ICTG Service recording requirements are met
  • Supporting staff in the identification, management, and response of safeguarding actions.
  • Supporting staff in undertaking initial assessments and action plans
  • Ensuring that staff are supported to manage children\’s transitions through the ICTG Service with a focus on integrating children into support systems within regional networks.
  • Supporting colleagues to ensure that children\’s voices are heard and listened to within planning and decision making.
  • Managing a caseload of up to 15 young people at times of need.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of national awareness raising sessions.
  • Working flexibly across the team to support work across our National Sites or within our central Guardianship Assessment Team
  • Contributing to the national out of hours on call rota
