Job Description
Barlows UK Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Electrician – Solar PV & EV Charger Installer to join our team. We are seeking an experienced electrician with a strong background in Solar PV systems and Electric Vehicle (EV) charge point installations. This role involves significant travel to and from sites, which can be extensive depending on project location. There may also be occasions where working away from home is required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, professional, and capable of delivering high-quality renewable installations across domestic and commercial properties. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of Solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, battery storage systems, and associated containment
- Installation of AC and DC cabling in accordance with current wiring regulations (BS 7671)
- Installation and commissioning of EV charge points (domestic and commercial)
- Fault finding and system diagnostics
- Working safely at height where required
- Ensuring compliance with current electrical and renewable energy standards
- Maintaining excellent timekeeping and a professional attitude
- Providing a high level of customer service with strong communication skills
Schedule
- Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Overtime available where required
- Significant travel to and from sites
- Occasional working away from home may be required
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Initial Verification qualification (City & Guilds 2391-52 or equivalent)
- Proven experience installing Solar PV systems
- Proven experience installing EV charge points
- Knowledge of battery storage systems (desirable)
- Comfortable working at height
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
