Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and operating secure, scalable multi‑account AWS environments and platform foundations
  • Defining and implementing organisation‑level security controls, tooling, and observability capabilities
  • Collaborating with architecture, security, and engineering teams to continuously improve compliance, reliability, cost efficiency, and user experience
  • Acting as a subject‑matter expert for application teams, providing guidance and hands‑on support with cloud‑native application design, deployment, and effective use of the platform
  • Building and maintaining infrastructure‑as‑code patterns and automation to support consistent cloud adoption
  • Tracking AWS service developments and evolving platform capabilities and best practices
  • Participating in the out‑of‑hours rota to support critical systems

Qualifications

  • Strong experience designing and operating AWS‑based platforms and distributed systems
  • Hands‑on experience running production, multi‑account AWS environments
  • Security‑first mindset, with experience building platforms in regulated or security‑sensitive environments
  • Solid understanding of AWS identity, networking, and data perimeter controls
  • Experience defining guardrails and platform standards that enable teams to move quickly and safely
  • Proficiency in Terraform and Python for infrastructure automation
