From our London HQ, we unite world‑class researchers and engineers in an environment that values deep exploration and methodical execution – because the best ideas take time to evolve. Together we’re building a world‑class platform to amplify our teams’ most powerful ideas. As part of our engineering team, you’ll shape the platforms and tools that drive high‑impact research – designing systems that scale, accelerate discovery and support innovation across the firm.

The role involves combining strong security, infrastructure and scripting skills to automate, deploy and configure security systems critical to the defence of our organisation. Key responsibilities:

  • Own technical and delivery projects across various technology stacks including Privilege Access, DLP, Email Security, Web Gateway, VPN, ZTNA, Firewall and SEIM systems.
  • Assisting with the strategic goals of the business, contributing secure designs and systems to the roadmap.
  • Contributing to ongoing threat modelling and assessment of team systems in conjunction with other security teams.
  • Deploying, configuring and maintaining security infrastructure.
  • Building security system integrations, for example delegated access, secure workflows and infrastructure as code solutions.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Broad enterprise infrastructure experience across Windows, Linux, Entra, firewalls and web proxies, with a strong understanding of how to defend complex environments.
  • Hands‑on experience designing, deploying, tuning and supporting security tooling in production.
  • Expert‑level troubleshooting with a structured, analytical approach to unfamiliar systems.
  • Automation experience using Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of Entra, SAML, OIDC and Custom Applications.

Desired Experience:

  • Exposure to software engineering practices, such as object‑oriented languages.
  • Experience working in IP sensitive environments with a focus on data security.
  • Hands‑on experience with infrastructure and configuration as code and platform tooling including Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Jenkins, Argo, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience integrating complex environments with varying security levels across multiple zones.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to develop and execute a long‑term data strategy.
  • Precision: Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability at all times.
  • Communication: The ability to convey complex data engineering concepts to all stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Support and mentor junior colleagues to develop skills and independence.
  • Collaboration: Work across teams to ensure alignment of data practices with wider security and business goals.
