As part of our engineering team, you’ll shape the platforms and tools that drive high‑impact research – designing systems that scale, accelerate discovery, and support innovation across the firm. The security role is at the heart of everything we do at G‑Research. We believe every engineer should have the tools to make smart security decisions throughout the development lifecycle, from writing code to deployment. As part of our DevSecOps team, you will support our engineers and secure our applications, infrastructure, and services while ensuring productivity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and operating security services including PKI, secret management, and secure software development lifecycle tools.
- Deploying and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient software platforms to meet the security needs of our engineering teams.
- Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams and customers.
- Proactively identifying and suggesting improvements to our infrastructure, security practices, and operational processes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in programming with a strong command of at least one language, with Python and C# preferred.
- Strong experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins and GitLab), Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform and Ansible), and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana).
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and a solid understanding of Linux environments.
- Interest in solving security problems with experience in one or more of the following areas: Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), secret management, and secure SDLC.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to work directly with engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
- A quick learner who is proactive, self‑motivated, and has strong communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
