We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our doggy daycare and boarding kennels. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of the dogs in our care, providing exceptional care and support to both animals and clients. This position offers an opportunity to work in a compassionate environment where animal welfare is the priority. The role is suitable for individuals passionate about animal care and eager to gain experience within a professional setting.
Duties
- Assist with the daily cleaning and sanitisation of kennels to maintain hygiene standards
- Provide basic animal care including feeding, watering and exercising the dogs
- Ensure animals are comfortable, safe, and properly housed at all times
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' needs and care instructions
- Maintain accurate records of dogs feeding schedules, allergies etc
- Support general kennel maintenance tasks to uphold a clean and organised environment
- Support kennel manager with day to day tasks
- Take payments and bookings for dogs stay
- Answer any enquiries
Experience
- Good understanding of animal behaviour
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment requiring standing for extended periods
