My client is keen to appoint a RISK MANAGER to support the implementation, embedding, and day-to-day operation of the risk management framework. The successful incumbent will act as a trusted partner to all business areas, collaborating to identify, assess, monitor and manage key risks, ensuring they are understood, controlled, and reported effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework, ensuring consistent application of risk policies, standards, methodologies, and risk appetite.
- Work closely with all business areas to identify, assess, and document key strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, and emerging risks as they occur.
- Challenge and support first-line teams in the design and effectiveness of risk controls, providing pragmatic risk advice that aligns to business objectives.
- Facilitate risk assessments, scenario analysis, and deep-dive reviews, whilst also supporting the maintenance of risk registers, ensuring all risks are clearly articulated and rated.
- Prepare and coordinate risk reporting for senior management, risk committees, and boards, including key indicators (KRIs) and trend analysis.
- Support risk governance forums, preparing papers and action points, and ensuring the continuous improvement of risk dashboards and reporting packs.
- Ensure risk issues, incidents, and breaches are captured, analysed, and reported appropriately.
- Support any enhancement in risk management tools where opportunity arises, whilst also providing risk training and awareness activities to promote a strong risk culture.
- Remain well-informed on relevant industry best-practice developments in risk management.
- Provide ongoing support to business areas in regards to annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) reviews, Business Continuity Plan reviews and testing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a second line risk management role in the Financial Services sector.
- Experience of working with business stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage risks.
- Ability to interpret complex information, and communicate that information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Good experience with producing high-quality risk reports for senior stakeholders or governance committees.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to challenge constructively while maintaining effective working relationships.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
