My client requires a Risk & Compliance Business Partner to play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and embedding a strong risk-aware culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert compliance advice across all business operations and strategic initiatives; supporting projects, product development, and process reviews.
- Provide advisory input on various topics including: permissions and third party arrangements, fair value assessments, pricing practices, MGA/Broker model analysis, marketing materials, general sales practices and commercial partnerships.
- Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and provide regulatory updates to inform effective strategic decision-making across the business.
- Maintain and enhance the Risk Management Framework, maintain the Risk Register and oversee the tracking of incident and remedial activities, continuing to update and align Risk Appetite documentation with overall business strategy.
- Interpret and implement regulatory changes to ensure ongoing business readiness.
- Respond to all compliance queries and distributor issues with timely, accurate guidance.
- Provide robust regulatory reporting and updates to senior leadership team as required.
- Deliver ongoing risk management training, education and awareness to colleagues.
- Support effective running of Risk Committee, improving governance and reporting processes.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk and compliance roles within the UK insurance sector.
- Strong knowledge of various FCA regulatory rules and frameworks, such as: SM&CR, PRIN, ICOBS, SYSC, Consumer Duty, DISP.
- 'Hybrid' experience in both compliance advisory and enterprise risk management.
- Pragmatic approach, with the ability to apply proportionality.
- Excellent report writing, stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
