My client is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and embedding a strong risk-aware culture in the business. The successful incumbent will provide effective regulatory advice and guidance in close collaboration with colleagues, distribution partners, and governance forums.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert regulatory advice across business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct horizon scanning and regulatory updates to inform strategic decision-making.
- Support regulatory alignment in projects, product development, and process reviews.
- Respond to ad hoc compliance queries and distributor issues with timely, accurate guidance.
- Interpret and implement regulatory change to ensure business readiness at all times.
- Provide advisory input on permissions and third-party arrangements, fair value assessments and oversight, compliance with pricing practices, fairness and model analysis.
- Provide oversight of sales channels and delegated arrangements, as well as reviewing and approving all customer-facing materials.
- Provide compliance input into new and existing strategic relationships.
- Review all policy wording, and develop the firm's training & competence frameworks.
- Provide reporting and updates to the Board, Executive Committee and Risk Committee.
- Support in the implementation of SM&CR requirements and FCA reporting processes.
- Maintain the Compliance Manual and other regulatory guides as required.
- Track and manage actions arising from the key process and governance forums.
Key Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Considerable previous experience in risk and compliance roles within UK general insurance.
- Expert knowledge of FCA rules: SM&CR, PRIN, ICOBS, SYSC, Consumer Duty, DISP.
- Strong experience in both compliance advisory and enterprise risk management.
- Good understanding and ability to apply proportionality.
- Excellent report writing, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
