My client is on the lookout for a confident Compliance & Financial Crime Manager to ensure the business is appropriately safeguarded from regulatory risk. You would be expected to demonstrate excellent knowledge of FCA rules and regulations - particularly where it pertains to Consumer Credit - and be willing to both support and proactively challenge senior leadership in the pursuit of positive impact.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain a robust regulatory framework and monitoring plan aligned with FCA rules, regulatory developments, and the risk profile of the business.
  • Lead on Consumer Duty implementation, embedding conduct risk aspects into monitoring, governance, and decision‑making processes.
  • Provide expert regulatory advice on aspects such as product development and governance, financial promotions, and operational change management.
  • Oversee policies relating to Financial Crime prevention; managing complex cases, supporting KYC and Sanction checks, and advising the MLRO on effective compliance.
  • Own regulatory policies and procedures, and the effective roll‑out of training, regulatory engagement, MI production and reporting processes.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in a compliance role with an FCA‑regulated credit broker or consumer lender.
  • Strong knowledge of the FCA Handbook, including CONC, PRIN, SYSC, DISP & Consumer Duty.
  • Ability to develop effective risk‑based compliance monitoring programmes.
  • Can successfully implement Financial Crime prevention policies in an FCA‑regulated context.
  • Track record of engaging effectively with the FCA and senior leadership teams.
  • Good analytical, reporting, and communication skills - can work autonomously but also collaborate effectively as part of diverse team setups, and exercise good judgement.
  • Ideally holds a professional compliance qualification (e.g., ICA, CISI).
  • Has previously supported SM&CR responsibilities.
