Barlborough Medical Practice is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Advance Nurse Practitioner to join our team. Our Clinician team consists of ANPs and GPs to provide quality care to our patients.
Main duties of the job:
- Autonomously seeing clinics of patients in surgery to deliver a high standard of patient care.
- Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with both minor and complex needs, initiating referrals as appropriate and planning clinical care accordingly.
- Possible home visits.

Barlborough Medical Practice is a friendly forward-thinking GP practice in Barlborough, North East Derbyshire, and a member of the NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB. The Practice is a semi-rural dispensing practice run from 2 sites, a main surgery at Barlborough, and a branch at Renishaw. Four Partners (3 GP & 1 PM). Clinical System: TPP SystmOne.
Job responsibilities:
- Comply with all relevant practice policies including confidentiality, safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection.
- Participate in PCN-wide meetings, training, and CPD events.
- Engage with practice population health initiatives and contribute to local service delivery models.
- Contribute to coding, record summarisation, and use of clinical systems.
- Uphold infection control and cleanliness standards in clinical areas.
- Participate in appraisal, revalidation, and quality improvement processes.
Supervision and Support:
Clinical supervision provided by the practice GP Partners. Operational oversight by the Practice Manager. Responsible to: Partners. Work will be largely autonomous with access to mentoring and peer support across the practice.
Person Specification:
Experience: Experience working in General Practice.
Qualifications: Must hold Masters/Advance Nurse Practitioner qualifications. Experience working autonomously in primary care.
