What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lecturer - SEND, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to SEND learners, supporting them to develop practical literacy skills for work, further study and everyday life. You will:
- Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to learners with diverse starting points
- Use learner-centred teaching and assessment strategies to drive progress and achievement
- Provide clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and promotes independence
- Monitor and track attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required
- Support learners with varying barriers to education, creating an inclusive and motivating classroom environment
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains relevant to employment and progression pathways
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of education policies and practice
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a passionate and committed Lecturer - SEND specialist who understands the transformational impact of SEND education. You should have:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)
In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Experience teaching SEND students within Further Education
- Experience delivering classes to students with a diverse range of educational needs
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
- The ability to differentiate effectively for mixed-ability groups
- Experience tracking and monitoring learner progress using digital systems
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing
