Job Description
We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for Technician- Plumbing & Gas to join our Apprenticeships team.
You will join us on apart-time, permanent basis, 28.8 hours per week, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,155 – £28,941 (to be pro rata'd to 28.8hpw).
The Technician- Plumbing & Gas role:
To provide technical support for staff and students
Key Responsibilities of our Technician- Plumbing & Gas:
- Prepare materials and apparatus for demonstrations and practical work, including examination requirements, as directed.
- Monitor stock levels using appropriate systems and order materials as authorised by the Apprenticeship Manager/ Head of Department.
- Maintain clean working areas.
- Assisting in the demonstration of techniques and practices to students
- Support tutors with student assessments of competence to national standards
Our ideal Technician- Plumbing & Gas should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Have suitable formal qualifications in plumbing up to level 2 or a minimum oi 5 years in the plumbing or gas industry.
- Possess good IT and administrative skills and be able to keep accurate tracking records for tools and equipment.
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment suitable for students.
- Recent and relevant experience of working in a plumbing training centre, or similar establishment, or working towards level 3 qualification in Plumbing would be an advantage.
