We have an exciting opportunity in our Maths and English department for a Trainee Lecturer - Maths on a Full‑time, permanent basis.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Trainee Lecturer - Maths, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to learners, supporting them to develop practical literacy skills for work, further study and everyday life.

• You Will
• Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to learners with diverse starting points
• Use learner‑centred teaching and assessment strategies to drive progress and achievement
• Provide clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and promotes independence
• Monitor and track attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required
• Support learners with varying barriers to education, creating an inclusive and motivating classroom environment
• Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains relevant to employment and progression pathways
• Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of education policies and practice
• What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a passionate and committed Maths specialist who understands the transformational impact of further education.

• The Ideal Candidate Will
• Be working towards or willing to work towards a teaching qualification with the support of an allocated mentor.
• In Addition, You Will Demonstrate
• Experience supporting learners within Further Education setting with functional skills, GCSE Maths or general, personal or academic development.
• Recent, relevant experience of teaching functional skills and GCSE maths to learners from Entry level to level 2.
• Strong understanding of maths principles and inclusive teaching strategies.
• The ability to differentiate effectively for mixed‑ability groups.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing.
