What You’ll Be Doing

  • As a Plumbing and Gas Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inclusive classes to learners, supporting them to develop practical literacy skills for work, further study and everyday life.

You Will

  • Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to learners with diverse starting points
  • Use learner-centred teaching and assessment strategies to drive progress and achievement
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and promotes independence
  • Monitor and track attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required
  • Support learners with varying barriers to education, creating an inclusive and motivating classroom environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains relevant to employment and progression pathways
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of education policy and practice

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a passionate and committed Plumbing and Gas specialist who understands the transformational impact of Apprenticeships.

You Should Have

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)
  • Assessor and Quality Assurance Awards: Level 3 in CAVA
  • Gas Safe Registration
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) level 4 is desirable
  • At least 3 – 5 years post qualification industry experience

In Addition, You Will Demonstrate

  • Experience teaching Plumbing and Gas within Further Education, ideally including Apprenticeships
  • Strong understanding of Apprenticeship principles and inclusive teaching strategies
  • The ability to differentiate effectively for mixed-ability groups
  • Experience tracking and monitoring learner progress using digital systems
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing
