Our Health and Social Care and Science provision plays a vital role in supporting local, regional and national workforce needs across healthcare, social care and applied science sectors.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering theory and applied lessons, including the development of schemes of work
- Designing and implementing learner-centred assessment methods, providing constructive and developmental feedback
- Encouraging, monitoring and reporting on learner attendance, progress and achievement
- Creating and maintaining safe learning environments, embedding health and safety standards and ensuring learners understand and comply
- Undertaking personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated learners to support their development and progression
- Keeping up to date with sector and industry developments to ensure curriculum relevance and learner employability
- Actively engaging in continuing professional development related to teaching, learning and assessment
Qualifications
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in the Further and/or Higher Education sector
- Relevant subject knowledge and industry understanding within Health, Social Care or Science
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to accurately track learner attendance, progress and achievement
- Experience of working with young people and/or adults (desirable)
- A learner-focused approach with high professional standards
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
