Join Our Construction and Building Services Team As a Learning Resource Officer (Plumbing), you will provide essential technical support to staff and students, helping to ensure that our workshops, equipment and learning resources are maintained to the highest standards. Working closely with curriculum staff, you'll support the delivery of practical learning experiences that prepare learners for industry success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing materials, equipment and workshop resources for practical sessions and assessments
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering materials as authorised
  • Maintaining plumbing tools, equipment and workshop facilities
  • Issuing, tracking and managing tools, stores and inventory
  • Supporting tutors with practical demonstrations and learner assessments
  • Installing, checking and maintaining equipment and resources
  • Providing hands‑on technical support to staff and students
  • Undertaking minor repairs and ensuring equipment operates safely and effectively
  • Maintaining clean, organised and safe working environments
  • Supporting health and safety compliance across workshop areas
  • Assisting with administration, record keeping and reporting requirements
  • Keeping up to date with developments within the plumbing industry

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant qualifications within Plumbing or a related subject area (minimum Level 2)
  • Experience working within a plumbing training centre, educational setting or similar environment
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of the plumbing industry and emerging developments
  • A strong understanding of workshop health and safety requirements
  • The ability to demonstrate and support safe use of plumbing equipment and tools
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and inventory systems
  • Good IT and administrative skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to learner success and enrichment activities
  • An understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive practice
