As a Lecturer in English (Adult Core Skills), you will deliver engaging and inclusive English provision to adult learners, supporting them to develop practical literacy skills for work, further study and everyday life.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons, including Functional Skills and GCSE English where applicable.
- Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to adult learners with diverse starting points.
- Use learner‑centred teaching and assessment strategies to drive progress and achievement.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and promotes independence.
- Monitor and track attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required.
- Support learners with varying barriers to education, creating an inclusive and motivating classroom environment.
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains relevant to employment and progression pathways.
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of adult education policy and practice.
