Overview

Barking & Dagenham College are seeking a passionate and skilled Property Maintenance/Multi Skills Trainer Coach, to inspire and support the next generation of property maintenance professionals. In this role, you will train, coach, and assess apprentices, ensuring they develop the full range of skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for success in the industry. Property Maintenance/Multi Skills Trainer Coaches are multi-skilled professionals, and this apprenticeship covers a diverse range of trades including carpentry, painting & decorating, plastering, basic electrical, and plumbing. You will share your expertise to help apprentices gain confidence, competence, and a recognised qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, coaching, and assessment to apprentices in line with the Property Maintenance Operative apprenticeship standard.
  • Cover multiple trade areas including carpentry, painting & decorating, plastering, basic electrical, and plumbing.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging sessions that develop apprentices\' knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs).
  • Monitor apprentice progress through regular reviews, workplace visits, and online systems.
  • Provide feedback, guidance, and support to ensure apprentices achieve their qualification and reach their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with employers to ensure training meets industry standards and business needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and achievements.
  • Stay up to date with industry practices and apprenticeship requirements, embedding health & safety and compliance throughout.

Qualifications and experience

  • Industry experience in property maintenance, building services, or related trades (E).
  • Have qualifications in the subject relevant to the course to be delivered at a suitable level.
  • Possess an assessing qualification or be prepared to undertake further relevant training.
  • Have recent and relevant experience of training/coaching in the relevant subject area.
  • Experience of training/coaching learners on apprenticeship qualifications.
  • A teaching qualification, PGCE, DTLLS or equivalent is desirable.

You will join us on a 21.6 hours per week, permanent, part-time basis and in return we will offer a competitive salary of £37,807 - £39,924 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting (to be pro rata\'d to 21.6 hpw).
