Role Overview

The Trainer Coach – Electrical is part of the training and delivery team. The role involves delivering and updating apprenticeship standards, supporting apprentices to achieve positive outcomes, and ensuring all teaching meets quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in their workplaces, conduct progress reviews and run portfolio workshops on campus.
  • Support curriculum design for relevant apprenticeship standards and work‑related training within the curriculum area.
  • Develop planning and teaching resources, including course outlines, schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials (including online).
  • Coach apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards, core skills and work‑related training.
  • Visit and actively support apprentices at their workplace to monitor progress.
  • Complete and maintain all apprenticeship reports, assessment forms and other documentation required by awarding bodies and BDC quality procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualification in coaching or mentoring.
  • Experience in the electrical industry.
  • Experience working with a training provider teaching or assessing apprentices.

Desirable:

  • Holding a teaching qualification.
  • Valid driving licence (required to visit apprentices on site).
