Barking & Dagenham College is hiring a Curriculum Manager for Hair and Beauty. This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £54,669 - £56,214 per annum inclusive of London weighting. The post reports to the Head of Department and involves operational leadership and management of the designated curriculum area, people management, achievement of qualifications, and learner progression and experience. The role includes developing the curriculum to reflect industry changes and national reforms, with a teaching commitment of 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a responsive and excellent curriculum through effective leadership and management of the curriculum team.
  • As part of the management team, lead on designated curriculum areas and coordinate projects and initiatives.
  • Stay informed about new developments affecting the area and work with the Head of Department to take advantage of opportunities.
  • Develop, facilitate and support curriculum changes to meet local, regional, national and global needs, fostering relationships with the Borough, local community and stakeholders.
  • Manage staff timetabling and local budget management for designated curriculum teams, including operational management of resources.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Cert Ed/PGCE or relevant teaching/training qualification.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • B1 or TAQA verifier award.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the hair or beauty industry.
  • Successful teaching experience in further education.
  • Experience of liaison with awarding bodies.
  • Experience of working to the Common Inspection Framework.
  • Experience of developing and delivering inclusive teaching and learning strategies.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and developing provision with quality assurance frameworks.
  • Experience of self-assessment processes, course reviews and writing development plans.
